I’ve got lots of unpopular opinions, many of them formed the hard way.
As a writer, then a writing workshop leader, then a book coach, then a book doctor, then a publisher……oh the journey….I can tell you EXACTLY where the trains tend to come off the track during book development. Particularly for those authors looking to write a book to grow their business, extend their reach, and attract clients with their stories and unique framework.
One of the things that I love about entrepreneurs is their general willingness to throw themselves off a cliff and figure stuff out during free fall. While they’re kicking and screaming. As wrong as this sounds, planning and strategizing, at least at the very beginning of one’s business iteration, can often be an impediment.
Life, somehow, rewards these daring yet hazy souls. Provided they hang in there long enough.
Yet.
You can be hazy on who it is you serve and what it is that you do for these nice people while yacking away on a podcast, or mingling at a networking event, which is how many of us get going. You can NOT, however, be hazy about these things in the pages of your book.
If you’re not clear on these things…….well…
If you’d like to grab a copy of this pdf, you can do so here. If you already have it, you might want to read it. Just sayin’.
