Beware That Extra Hole In The Wall

Stay curious. Ask questions!

When my electrician was going to install a new bathroom fan for us, he told me that he needed to move a few light switches in order to install the new timer and have enough room to make it fit. Which meant opening up a hole in the wall and maybe moving the towel holder. I looked at it and asked him why he couldn’t just turn the current switches on their sides and stack them instead of having them side by side.

He realized that was a much better and simpler solution than what he had planned. It hadn’t even occurred to him, and he deals with all kinds of electrical outlets all day!

He wasn’t upset that I asked him the question. In fact he was happy to have a simpler solution.

Asking that question saved me money and an extra hole in the wall.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions.

Good questions open up possibilities.

It’s one of the things I love most about being a coach. Because it’s easy for us all to get too close to our challenges.

My curious mind might be just what you need. You never know what kind of “holes” you might be avoiding in your “walls” when you have someone like me asking questions. Shoot me an email if you want to explore options.
